Moving Colum Update
Well just to let all those know who helped me with my question about moving the colum down a few inches, I did it today and it was an all day job as I thought, it did go wrong at one point when my drill bit snapped off in the hole while drilling out the pins, so had to remove the entire colum to do this thing, one good thing was that I really did not want my NSS outside the firewall so I moved it up the colum further just cut another slot for it but had to fabricate a small spline for the switch to lock on to to operate the switch.
  So I had my beer 72 SWB in my new roomier cab. Thanks Guys.

GOOD WORK!!!!! feels better huh? i am waiting for my manual, floor shift column to come in the mail and i will be doing the same thing! but without the nss!!!!!!!!lol! haha! i'm glad that worked out for you!!!!!!

Hit us with a pic of the interior. Let's see how close you got it to the cluster!
(Just make sure that screw doesn't back out and fall into the hole.)

That's a good point putter on that screw, it's a self tapper and it''s in tight so fingers crossed, I actually got the colum all the way down, must say though I didn't intend to take it that close wanted to leave about 1/2" between the cup and rubber...if it bothers me I can always bring it back up a bit.
But the change in distance between me and the wheel is just great it has made all the difference, when I asked if this could be done in the forum I thought it was going to turn out to be some dumb ass question from a Brit who does'nt know what he's talking about, so I was real glad to find out I wasn't the only one who felt they needed more elbow room. Thanks again mate.

btw: A little dab of locktite or silicone may insure that selftapping screw stays in... |
