WIW??? - Yeah I know "Not another one" - I have no idea on these trucks

Anyway. I stumbled across a '65??? LWB Fleetside. I haven't seen it in person yet but here are the specs:

Original 3/4t 2x4 - was driven "daily" up until 6 months ago.
6cly/Granny 4sp/(4:10s?)

Supposedly an "Alabama Truck" It appears to be really solid, owner states that the bed doesn't have any rust/rot, other than the wood floor is gone. States that the cab is solid, maybe a could small dime sized holes in the floor. Front fenders have the typical bondo @ the rear bottoms. Small Back window, but it is a fleetside

He put the truck on an '85 K-10 Chassis to convert it to a 4x4, but didn't like the rear of the '85 frame as it was kinda rusty. Also said that there is a Edlebrock intake and new edlebrock 600cfm carb on the 350

It is a project. It has the '85 K-10 Chassis with a 350/700R4/??, The original C-20 Chassis with the 6cly/4sp/etc. He also has the spring hangers etc from another 4x4 to convert the original C-20 Frame to a K- 20.

Asking 3k for everything. He thinks that the Truck and original chassis are worth about 2k.
Pics aren't the greatest as I haven't actually seen the truck yet.

What do you think???

Thanks in advance.

hows the craftsmanship? 2x4s for body mounts? 3k is alot of money to buy someone elses mistakes. if the craftsmanship is solid and its well built, 2500 to 3000 sounds about right. look it over really close, does the steering bind, t-case shift thru all ranges? brakes work? lighting and electrical sound? why is it for sale? is it road worthy? my 62 was built by the po in 3 1/2 weeks, and boy does it show. it was declared road worthy in a dark shop and trailered home anyway. I am glad I did to, as I found a hole in the driveshaft the size of a quarter, and it rubs on the x member and is nearly cut itself in half. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

Re: WIW??? - Yeah I know "Not another one" - I have no idea on these trucks

when I talked to him, he said that the body mounts were taken from another '64-'66 truck and put onto the '85 frame. He had to raise them a little bit for everything to clear I guess.

Apparently it just moves around the yard, the chassis swap was never finished completly

My thought was to buy the truck with the original chassis/body and the front spring hangers and whatever suspension conversion parts he has and let him keep the '85 frame and drivetrain. He said that he also has a TH400 and transfer case that he would let go with it too (hopefully it's a NP205).

My initial thought was - original chassis, truck, 4x4 conversion parts. Convert the original C-20 frame to a K-20 with a later Dana and 14b. I have a ton of small blocks laying around.

I'm going to take a good look @ it before I do anything, just seemed like it is a pretty solid truck for being in the Northeast.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys
