junkyard find

Went to the salvage yard today and found a few things. Don't know why I looked at the ceiling of the cab but I did and found a headliner. The rest of the truck was pretty well stripped and rusted to peices. Has anybody dyed a headliner? Is so how did it turn out? I did clean it up a little.

Here are some pics.

Re: junkyard find

i have dyed various pieces of interior before....
as long as they are not wear items, such as:
door pulls, door panels, seats, ect, ect
and this is not, it will be fine!
remember to use a very good de-greaser, and scrub it down nice!
then paint it with your dye, light coats.... don't soak it in paint!
the first coat will be pretty much transparent...
then build up the dye to achieve good coverage, allowing at least 20-30 minutes between coats.
paint the sides, and 2 inches around the perimeter of the back side as well.
this will turn out great!!!!!!!
good luck!
