Rear gear question!!!???
I currently have 3.07 's in my 12 bolt..If i converted to 3.73's how much of a change would i notice in quickness?? Is it worth it if it hardly ever goes on the highway and want it to be able to compete Street/Strip????
Thanks Jason

You will like the gear change, however the cheapest way to go is swap the complete rear diff out. you are looking at a carrier change to a 4 series to set up 3.73 gears. Im runnin 4.10s on a 28" tire,& its not bad in town, but on the road 3000 rpms is right at 60 mph. The posi unit I got was a swap item, butafter a rebuild, bearings & shims,gears....I still had a chunk of cash out, & I set up the gears myself. 3.73 was a pretty common ratio, found in the 6cyl trucks, so it shouldnt be too bad to pick one up, but the posi's are a little more "prized". good luck.....crazy Al
