LED taillights need electronic flasher?

I'm interested in picking up a set of LED taillights. I've found a few suppliers for them and I'm getting conflicting reports that electronic flashers are needed (or maybe not ) for them to work properly. Does anyone have a definitive opinion on this?

TIA!

Re: LED taillights need electronic flasher?

I have the LEDS on the Chief....and they were great...they are SUPER bright.

I usually run without my hood, so I didn't have my front signals. The LEDS would not trip the flasher (would not flash...not enough current).

So I picked up some resistors and hook them up to the LT and RT output to the taillights under the dash.

It worked out perfect.

Now had I of had my fronts hooked up, then I probalby would of need anything.

A single 1157 per side, along with the LED should be enough to cycle a stock type flasher.

Re: LED taillights need electronic flasher?

I bought mine from LMC when they had em, and runnin with the 2 1157's up front, there is no need for an electronic flasher, but there not exactlly super expensive to buy.
