Question pump won't work

wen i bought my truck the windsheild washer pump didn't work so i thought oh wel, i get a new one. so i buy a new one and it does the bang clic clic clic clic, etc. put nothing comes out. i tried many different techneques 2 get it working but nothing. took it out today and my dad will see wat he can do. any suggestions befor i pull my hair out. if all else failes il get a universal pump.

u tried hooking 12 volt right off the battery to see if it pumps to rule out wireing issuses

I have had to push the wiper button like ten times or more before to get a new pump primed and finally pumping. It just takes a while sometimes for that old design to draw washer solvent that far from the bottle.

on my 69 k20 the metal nozzles were all caked up with crud i put new ones on and it worked great.
