Re: Mutha Thumpr CAM
That's a great idea, but something sounds weird with them to me. Sounds fake or just different. Give me a good old fashioned nasty solid and that music to me.

Re: Mutha Thumpr CAM
The Thumprs are basically a cam with longer duration than you'd typically see with the amount of lift and advance. It creates a cam with a lot of overlap, which is where the "rumpty" sound comes from, without having to live with a really radical cam.
Overall, you're giving up gas milage and some driveability for a lopey sound - but you don't end up with a complete dog at low RPM from over-camming. |

Re: Mutha Thumpr CAM
I am going to run one of the big mutha thumprs in my 383. it will be built on a vortec 350 block with a set of Holley aluminum heads. They sound wicked, but any big cam sounds like that. I am going to use it simply because they have a roller for my OEM block.

Re: Mutha Thumpr CAM
my motor will be a 383 stroker also, any other cams u guys recommend? i want the truck to have a nice lope to it but i don't want to kill my gas mileage, even though i will be running a 700r tranny.
