Mechanicle or Vac. advance?

Which one is better. I am looking to get a new distributor and want some feedback from you guys that have run both. My engine makes a minimum amount of vac at idle, and I am looking for alternatives.

if your cam doesnt run enough vacumn to pull the can, you may opt to run 16-18 initial, & limit the mechanical advance accordingly to get the proper total. It probably wont get the milage without the vac can.....but thats not what you built it for anyway. Good luck...crazy AL

street driven===vacuum advance.. only dragrace===mechanical
just a rule of thumb.. you can always remove the vacuum advace if you want later..
