Postal Jeep gas tank for a under bed relocation??

Looking for some alternatives to the standard poly or steal kit for tank relocation.

It was brought up in a conversation that the gas tank from a 78 or 79 postal jeep fits almost perfectly between the rails where the spare tire goes. Anyone have any input?? Seems a might be a cheeper way to relocate then the $200 kits out there.

Or any forum people in texas have a relocation kit that would be more pocket friendly??

My build right now is my grandfathers 69 CST 10 long bed nick named "Whitey" i'm thinking they way i'm going at it like a budget build the nick name should be "Tighty Whitey"

THanks

I dont mind spending the $200 for the tank - its the untold $ to relocate the filler neck that scares me.

The postal jeep tanks are very small...I think only 12 gals. But it probabbly would work.

I've seen a couple of 79 CJ5 21 gallon tanks. Probably hang down way too much to fit right.

You know of anyone in texas on the forum that has any relocation kits for the sale??
