Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

1967 3 on the tree,You might be better served to buy the heater control rebuild kit. They only run about $20-30 and they come with steel levers instead of the pot metal in the originals. They are much stronger and seem like they will last longer.I mention this because I hate to do anything over. This is one area where the repop is much better than the original.
Sounds like a plan on the spring tho.
I plan on finishing my drop/brake upgrade and driving mine some too.I also need to put Glow plugs in the Benz. The biggies are
Charlotte Auto Fair (spring)
NC Board meet
Chevy/GMC Nationals *Maggie Valley,NC)
National Board meet Ron's place Big Sandy TN
Charlotte Auto Fair (Fall)
I'm sure there will be some local shows also.

Save a little more money for my 4/6 kit I plan on getting this summer. Run around to swap meets/junk yards and see if I can find some more parts for future use.

Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

By mid March hope to have the cab interior back together and move the truck out of the garage on it's own power. By mid-April hope to have the front end sheet metal painted and installed, and by June 1 have the bed completed. it's a long shot but I believe I can do it.

3 on the tree-- Make sure you get those studded snow tires off by the drop-dead date!! LOL!!!

Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

go on a 7.1 mile run and then clean and paint my motor and transfer case. Start cleaning all of the fuel and transmission cooling lines. Start seperating things out that will need powder coating. Find a powder coater.

Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

This will be the spring for wheels and body mods. I hope to have my 20" Boze's on and the replacement 8 foot bed sitting in my driveway in the shop and chopped down to a respectable 6.5 feet by sometime in April. Then I hope to find a trashed burb and rob a bunch of parts and sheet metal off of it to fab up an extended cab. If I get this stuff done then I'll roll it all summer long and start some more mods in the fall.

Say hi to my brother-in-law,Paul...a real nice guy.Tell him Tim said hi.He`s the guitar player in the nighthawks. Not a bike guy. That would be Mark (singer/harmonica/nice guy). He`s an Indian man from way back and would be interested to know you found that Chief. It`s prolly not your style to run up to talk to the band,me niether. But,I think they`d enjoy a brief,"hey".

What are my spring plans? The same as always.Do what I can when I can if I can.

Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

Just got my billit grill and rubber floor mat yesterday! Ordered door siles, seat cover, glove box, dome light, decal for jack storage, from GMC Pauls, picked up a visor for the passenger side, have dye to make everything black, except seat belts, (going to get S10 black shoulder belts).
Picked up a booster and bracket, powder coated and a OEM slider window from a member, very, very nice of him to donate to my cause!!
Also picked up a bench seat, that tilts forward and I took the old material off, now I need to sand blast or bead blast and get ready for my new seat cover! Also have my new dash and gauges to install!
That's a good start for this weekend!!!!!

Re: sat is march 1st !!!!!! spring plan's ????

Will also be out of the country for a while, but hope to be back by my son's and my birthday in mid March.

When I return I have to look over what I have to start my first real project truck and start gathering stuff for the build. I bought my grandson's project he never started.

There's a '70 GMC short frame that has been converted to 5 lug with disc brakes a long time back, a complete '67 C-20 long stepper truck and a fiberglass short bed box. The rearend from the '67 will go to my son-in-law to put in one of his "Mud Trucks". The long step bed will go on my '71 farm truck and the rest of the '67 will go on the '70 GMC short frame. The near perfect LWB fleetside off my farm truck is going on a '69 truck that my son is building for his wife.

I have a lot of plans, only time and finances will tell how things unfold. I have been out of work since last June so getting a job will be one of my priorities. I can only do our finances with smoke and mirrors so long, you know.

Good luck with all your projects this year.

Danny
