Finding a 2wd frame is harder than finding a 2wd truck. That's why so many are converting.

Where are you located in Washington? I believe that JohnboyMX has a frame he has mentioned wanting to sell in Kent.

Re: 1971 4x4 k5

Depends on how LOW you want to go. You can get ALOT lower with a 4wd
frame converted into a 2wd. I chose to find a 2wd frame to do my swap. It
all depends on what you want in the end, and if you plan on selling it later.
(The completed's on Evil Bay don't sell quite as high if they are converted)

Re: 1971 4x4 k5

I've been toying with the idea of converting bouncytruck too. Since I want a bagged truck, it doesn't matter to me if it is factory 2wd or converted.

Re: 1971 4x4 k5

I have 2 of them. One is a factory 72 2wd rolling frame, the other is a 71 4x4 rolling frame that has been converted. The converted one is still 6 lug in the back but 5 lug disc in the front. I also have a complete runner driver that I am selling. http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/589461428.html

If you decide to go ahead and convert yours and have any questions feel free to ask.
I have converted over a dozen throughout the years and currently have 4 converted ones in the yard and two more awaiting conversion.

Okay - so where is the official 4wd to 2wd conversion post so we can add it to the FAQ (and so I can see what is involved in the conversion) -

Thanks Livrat!

Re: 1971 4x4 k5

Here's an article that (sort of) explains how to convert from 4wd to 2wd.
