No, but I noticed I can still see a printed part number on the bottom of one of my '72 Step Bumpers. I know, not very cool...oh well.

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

I guess it's personal taste as is a lot about these trucks. I for one wouldn't want one of those on my truck.
Not tring to start a arguement just stating my taste.
I don't want any kind of advertisement for a dealership on my vehicle.
I had a truck I bought once that they stuck the dealer tag on it and I refused to drive it until they took it off. They said the owner said they had to put it on each new car. I told them when the dealer paid me $22,000 for it he could do whatever he wanted to his truck, this one I owned.
The tag wasn't on it when I drove off the lot.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

my pop had one on his 66 swb back in the mid/late 80's. really cool because his truck was originally sold in my hometown and we knew the dealer.

I've even seen some original bumpers painted white with red lettering as well.

I think if it's original to the rig, AND your going bone stock, they are quite cool.......

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

I can see where some of these are nostalgic. Especially if it has an old dealership name that no longer exists or if you're trying to stay with the old look.

But, personally, I didn't like mine and I don't care for anything that uses my vehicle for free advertisement so I threw mine in with some scrap metal I sold last year.... Kinda wish I had kept them as souvenirs...

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

Here's the best shot I have of mine on hand.

It's engraved: Smith Bros. Chev Co. Gorman, Texas

They must be closed because I couldn't find anything on them on the internet.

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

This comes up every now and again and I REALLY wish I had taken pictures!!!! My truck was originally built in St. Louis and spent the first part of it's life in Texas. I don't remember the dealer but I specifically remember the right side of the bumper said "Brownsfield, Texas."

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

Sorry, no pics at work, but I have the original stamped bumper and original tailgate with matching dealer decal still intact in my garage. Have replaced the tailgate just so I could keep the original one safe (it was grandpa's only new vehicle ever)

Those things usually have large deep stampings/engravings. Anyone know how they did it? Might be kind of cool to stamp/engrave 67-72chevytrucks.com in one

that's a good question! Did the dealership have them made by the factory in bulk? Love to know the back story as well.

Re: Any dealer engraved bumpers out there? Let's see them

I have one on my 67 Chevy with Theo Money Chevy and its 17 miles from me where it was bought, poor thing never went very far. I'm the 3rd owner with the other 3 lives 10 miles from me, first owner past away, RIP, I would have loved to talk to him and let him see the redone truck.
