Re: Rubber Floor Mat Install

I've been thinking of installing one on my 68 GMC since it originally came with one. Here's one of my posts with pics of a mats from Brother's that has padding already.

If you get one, post some pics and let us know how it worked out. I'm thinking of doing mine probably in a couple of months.

Re: Rubber Floor Mat Install

I just bought a new one from a guy in Washington that decided to go with carpet, paid 50, no padding though. Looks very good quality though, no sure what brand.
How thick of jute?

Re: Rubber Floor Mat Install

Both LMC and Brothers sell them with padding if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Rubber Floor Mat Install

Not sure how thick the jute is on the Brother's mat. I assume it's probably like original which was maybe 1/2 inch or less. The ones that I've seen were after they'd been installed for years and looked more like 1/4 inch. One that I saw had the jute and a thin foam lining under it also.

I'm not familiar with how the rubber mat would be over the new style sound padding. I suppose it would be just as good as the jute type padding.
