i have a stock 305, and my prob is when i accellerate past bout 28 with more then 1/8 throtle it lugs bad, but if i giv it 1/8 throtle it'll run up to 55 then lug again, it has no problem with being thrown wide open untill 30. any suggestions

Sounds like your distributor advance is not working. Check for vacuum leaks on the hose and a bad diaphram on the advance.
