Looking for hitch that mounts on rear sport bumper - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I used to have one but must of sold it, anyone have one? This is not a reciever hitch, its the one that bolts to the side of the sport bumper inside by the tag bracket, then underneath to the frame. Thanks Randy

Randy- There was a guy on evil-bay that had one of these. It was a little rusty...but IIRC, it was cheap....

Hey Joe, did you find it under 67-72 chevy trucks when you seen it? I just went through 32 pages on the 67-72 chevy trucks on ebay and couldn't find it. Do you remember where you seen it? THANKS SO MUCH, Randy

I think I have one of those, bought it through a Chevrolet dealer in 1972. I will be out of town untill 11 March. Hope you find one before that but if not I will look in my storage when I get back.

that hitch is very close to the ones used on the chevy/gm vans on the sport bumper mid 70's to 1990's. food for thought

I'm curious...why would this type of hitch be used verses the hidden hitch type? Reason is I will need to add one to my 70cst for light pulling in parades? Thanks

Eric, does that middle bar go up and mount to the frame? I had one one time that went up to the frame on both sides if I remember right. Thanks Randy

I believe it bolted to the rear cross member. I can't remember for sure, and the truck is in storage right now. It may have had another cross bar that it bolted to, and if so, it would still be on the truck.
