almost new 4wd steering box f/s


was told it fits 67/87 trucks and up to 93 sub. it has between 3 and 5000 miles on it $100.00.[SOLD]

otsenre there is a drifferentence . i think it can be maid to work by changeing something but i wouldn't think it's worth that.
ryan the arm was not with it.

The shaft that comes out is different, 2wd is screwed and 4x4 is splined and bolts on if I remember right. Had to change what I said, this is right now

The parts catalog's illustration, and looking at the one on my truck (4wd), shows one nut centered, surrounded by 3 bolts. Yours shows 4 bolts surrounding. Different?

I bought a new box from GM and it was listed as up to`77.4wd and 2wd are completly different.

thanks randy & tim for your help.tim i found a # on the transfer part 99481 i hope you can tell me what its for. it's supose to be a 72. did your book say what those boots are worth.

Also how many turns lock to lock? Newer ones seem to have less turns, but I can't remember how many mine has.

Here is the difference so everyone will know
2wd has a nut and screwed on
4x4 is splined and bolted on

The 2wd and 4wd use the same power steering gear housing Cast # 7802644. This housing uses the flared hose up to 79 (don't hold me to the year break), then they started using the o-ring on the hose. As long as that cast # is there, it will fit your truck 4wd splines and 2wd with nut and lock washer. Hope that clears things a little more.

here it is with out the tape on it. i am not sure of the turns it's hard to turn with out the pitman arm on it.
