Is this everything I need to go 5 lug with disc brakes?
I *think* it's all I need. The only part I am unsure of is the rear drum backs.... Is this more a complete rear axle swap off CL/ebay? |

Re: Is this everything I need to go 5 lug with disc brakes?
I gutted a 77 for my parts...I am getting new ball joints, tie rods, master cyl, rotors, calipers and brake pads. For the front end its 144.00. I gave 150 for the truck...the 77...and I scrapped most of it and sold parts of it so it paid for its parts for the 69.

Maybe on brake lines, not sure. And yes, my jaw dropped at the prices too. The sad part is, the only reason I care about 5 lug is easier/cheaper wheel selection. Its looking like the cost savings may not be worth it. |

Depending on who you ask, 5 lug may help the resale value. (That is if you ever sold it...)

You could swap in a 73-87 front if you could find a donor in good shape. That'd save you a good bundle.

Re: Is this everything I need to go 5 lug with disc brakes?
im in san marcos - welcome to the board.
that is alot of coin. depending on what year you got - the rear axles may be a different length. i purchased a 5 lug rear from CL (71)for 150 and it bolted into the 67 frame used 80ish front sus. 150. had to get different spindles - there is a difference in the later 80's on spindles - light duty and heavy duty - you want the heavy duty if you deal with ordering parts for bearings etc. rear BlackBird rear disc kit 550ish there was a guy parting out a 71 in S.A. on CL last week - i would check on the brake system good luck |

Re: Is this everything I need to go 5 lug with disc brakes?
also if you buy a donor truck you get a set of 5-lug wheels, so you can get back on the road again before dropping major coin on a "nice" set of wheels. right now i just have the front half done on my truck, drives fine, looks ghetto.

Re: Is this everything I need to go 5 lug with disc brakes?
I used my original dog-dish caps on my 68 using OE 5-lug wheels in front & 6-lug wheels in back. You would never know it unless you told someone what's hiding behind the hubcap.
