Howdy from BC and welcome to the board! No C30 for me, but I'd like to see pics of others.

Re: lest see the c30s
I have a fender and emblem off a 64 c 30. The fender is going on the 60, and the emblem is mounted on the wall!
They came off a "bambalance"- It was a 1 ton 64 panel converted to medical duty. unfortunately the rest got crushed. |

Re: lest see the c30s
Here are a few 4-5-6 Chevy C30's. I only own the white one. The other two are photos I found online.

Re: lest see the c30s
Hey Tony, do you find the 30s are generally worth less than the 1/2 tons? Also, those front wheels (8 lug, presumably) what size are the rims? I always liked the look of those heavier wheels. Thanks.

Re: lest see the c30s
Quote:
Per the 1965 and 1966 Chevrolet Truck Silver Book, the factory tire sizes on the C30 are 8-17.5" or 8-19.5" on 8 lug x 5.0", 5.25" or 6.00" rim width and are not the same as the 8 lug rims on the C20. They are not interchangeable, per my personal experience. I hope this information is helpful. |

Re: lest see the c30s
This one isn't mine (wish it was) It's on ebay now, ending tonight. I emailed the seller and asked if he'd reveal his reserve. That was two days ago and he never answered. Probably more than I could afford anyway. But, man I love this truck.
This unique truck began its life as a fire and rescue vehicle. With only 54,000 original miles, the truck was transformed into a hotrod hauler. In the transformation stages, a new HEARTBEAT was installed via a totally rebuilt 1966 Cadillac 429 engine. The new engine has been bored .30 over, has a mild cam and an Edelbrock 750 carburetor. The new power goes through a 400 Chevrolet automatic transmission with a transkit shift kit, a single-piece drive shaft and a new 373 gear rear end. Also to help power and fuel economy, a new Gear Vendors over and under drive unit has been installed.

Re: lest see the c30s
Here's a couple of pics of my '66 C30 with a 157" wheelbase. It's one of my several projects so it's not complete or original. It originally had the factory power brakes, power assist steering, and air conditioning. When I got it all the front suspension, steering, braking, rear axle, tires and wheels were gone. I took these pics last summer when I finally got around to putting the 4.10 Dana 70 under it. Eventually it will have the dually style discs up front, power brakes, power steering, and a 355 with a 465 trans. And of course I'll have to see about resurecting the original AC as well. For tires and wheels, to start with I'll just run some bias ply's on 16" split rims that I got off of a Dodge I parted out. I plan on switching to some 16" x 7" steel dually wheels and some radials later on.

Re: lest see the c30s
I have 3 C-30's, but sorry no pictures.
I have a '64 C-30, 6-292, 4-Speed, Short Chassis (133 WB), Stake Body, Small Back Glass, that I drove for 9 years and presently is a parts truck. A '65 C-30, no engine, 4-Speed, Short Chassis, Stake Body, Small Back Glass which is restore-able. And a '68 C-30, 307, 4-Speed, Short Chassis, Flat Bed Dump, Large Back Glass (Only way they came in '68), which I am fixing up and is about 80% finished. I recently sold a '67 C-30, 283, 4-Speed, Long Chassis (157 WB) Flat Bed Dump, Small Back Glass. All 4 trucks have factory 16 inch wheels. The 2 Dumps have PTO's. Re: lest see the c30s
tailgatewagon,
The 8 Hand Hole wheels that you have is a tell-tale sign that you have the larger size wheels. The 4 Hole are usually 16 inch wheels. Bill |
