old air
anyone have an old air system in their truck ??
i just ordered one for my 63. just curious if anyone has any feedback. also im going to need 2 new pulleys. water pump and crank. double grooved ones. anyone know where i can get some non chrome ones ??? all the places that i see selling them on the web have chrome ones. i want black. |

I've never put one in a truck but I did put one in a 50 shoebox sedan. It was a nice unit. Good instructions a tech support. I'd use them again.

Old Air is an aftermarket company that is, I believe, based in Tampa, FL. They offer setups similar to the other aftermarket AC guys. I have considered one of their kits but haven't decided which way I'm gonna go yet.

it's a short water pump. i dont really have any salvage yards around here. there's one in daytona but they have mostly newer stuff.
they are based in texas. the price for the system was really good. hopefully it gets good and cold. |

ok. so i figured out the mounting bracket. i had to modify it slightly.
got everything in today but the wiring. which i'll do sometime this week. i'll let everyone know how it goes. |

I just bought a old air kit for my 65. the install so far is not to bad.

looks like a universal kit. then the hoses need to be crimped by someone. add's to the cost.
southern rod parts has the same kits. good stuff but universal. i got a quote on getting the 3 lines crimped and it was about 100 dollars. and then if you havent measured everything correctly you may be too short. they probably will crimp the hoses for you if you ship them back, at your expense, with measurements. i only went the way i did so i could do the whole job in a day or 2. no holdups. I was referring to the ashtray hole where the
stock ac came out and the defroster vents. sorry I wasn't more clear. Also will heat blow from the plastic vents you are putting in for the ac? sorry bout all the questions.
