A/C Removal?
I've got an a/c compressor in my truck, but there is no belt, and it needs a charge. How hard would it be for me to just remove it for now, and put it back in the truck a few years down the line? For now I just need it out of the way. Anything I need to know, or is it pretty much just unbolt and forget about it?
Anything helps here, since I have NO idea. Thanks in advance, Jared

Re: A/C Removal?
It has all of the hoses attached to it, not sure if it was "drained" or what not.

chances are there is a bad o ring or a leak somewhere but the only way to tell for sure is to put the dye feon in there and check it. You can remove it but make sure you seal off the lines when you unbolt them . plastic with electrical tape should work

Re: A/C Removal?
are any of them under pressure? I think my uncle said something like that. if i drain it, should i just detach a line and let it drip into a jug or something?

Re: A/C Removal?
the problem with removing parts from your ac system is moisture. if you crack the system open and moisture gets in there it will ruin the whole system. if i was going to rebuild the system a few years down the road i would keep every thing sealed on the truck. that way you dont have to go and replace everything in the ac system. it will save you money in the long run.
