New Member.
I have a 1969 GMC custom deluxe. It has the 350, air, guages, bench seat etc. It is sort of a cherry brandywine with a white top maybe? I have restored several Mustangs in the past but am new to trucks. When I saw her I fell in love! I am trying to find out everything i can about it. I need the vin decoded to find out production numbers color numbers etc. I would appreciate any help I can get. Websites, resources, any information or I can get. I am a disabled vet and move slow so I have time to fix up the truck. It is in good shape. If anyone lives near me or knows of a club near me or national club, I would appreciate any information. I have several parts books. I am willing to call anyone who would be willing to help me out. If there is anyting Ican dotohelp please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks all! Re: New to trucks, Need Help Please!
Thanks for all of the kind welcomes! As soon as I can I will post some photos of the truck. I know it's going to have some work done in the kick panels. It is rusted thru the bottom of both panels where it attaches to the floor boards and I guess the door frame supports.
I haven't found replacement panels as of yet from the cataloges I have. I want to upgrade it with some newer equipment. I am (planning?) on changing the gauges' and face with the billet dash and autometer gauges. Also rebuild the engine to maybe 400 or 450 horse. Chrome engine bay, buckets, deluxe headliner with speakers. I have a limited income being disabled, but will have to take it as it comes. If anyone hears of discount parts or services, I would . I want to build it and eventually hand it down to my 9 year old son.Army disability isn't enough now days. I am determined to do it and do it right! Thanks to all of you guys and gals again for the warm welcome and support. I look forward to making many friends here! thanks guys and God Bless. Ken: g2: |
