I have given up trying to deal with getting the stock parts for my 72. Has anyone out there tried the Lokar kickdown switch set-up? Thanks for any info. By the way, great forum!

I have the B&M kickdown switch and it works pretty good. I got it because it is cheaper than the lokar but I think the lokar is a better one to have imo. If you want a pic of it let me know..

I have the Lokar set up, easiest thing I've done to the truck. A little pricey but just a small box the attaches to the trans. a cable to the carb. Connect to key on power, and plug into trans.

I used a horn button for the kickdown switch mounted on the floor. To kickdown I just step on the switch it works like a dream

I use the Lokar set-up , its nice but I had to drill a new hole in the throttle arm on the carb (edelbrock) to make it work right. When I used the stock hole for kick down it wouldnt kick down unless the throttle was almost wide-open. I drilled a new hole closer to the center of the throttle arm and now it'll kick down at about 80% throttle, much better.

Why couldn't you get the stock switch to work? The mounting bracket is already built into the pedal assy under the dash...The switch is only about $15 and two screws hold it on.

I managed to find one for a stock 327 2bbl setup. Not easy.

I have the earlier ones that mount by the carb using back Qjet hole operated by a tab that comes off the carb,i think it was 71-2 that had under the dash.I even have a couple from stock 69 Big Block 2bbl Intakes.

Here is what you need. (see picture) If you have the original gas petal it will bolt right on. It will adjust itself the first time petal is pushed to the floor. To hook up just run one wire to fused switch on circuit and the other to switch on trans. The switch can still be purchased at dealers. Hope this helps.

even with all of the wring it still wont work for me. It must be the soleniod in the tranny that is the only thing i can think of now
