Shackle/ Hanger Help
I've got a 1987 SWB that already has a dropped shackle in place. The PO notched the bed to fit the dropped shackle but I'd like to look at a set of dropped leafs and shorter shackle to have the majority of the drop be in the spring, not the shackle.
My question is, is there a stock shackle that was replaced? Or does the leaf bolt directly to the bucket that is mounted to the rear of the frame? Is there such a thing as a stock shackle? Or was the "dropped shackle" created for lowering purposes only? Hopefully that makes sense, I'm having a hard tim explaining... Last edited by sighlurr; 03-10-2008 at 12:42 AM. |

Re: Shackle/ Hanger Help
You'll need to get the stock shackle to replace the drop one you have on there now, go to any Pick Apart and take the stock ones off another truck and you'll be set, stock shackles are 6" long.
Dropped shackles are longer to give you a 2" drop, hence the reason the bed was notched. |
