New (old) Wheels

I was taking so much cra& over my white wagon wheels that I had to change them out. Problem was I found another bad tire so had to substitute a different tire/wheel combination on the left front. I will run these for the next few months until I get around to finishing the next set.

I like the old slots for a "period" restoration.

Thats the wheel I have on my 69 3/4 ton big block pickup. Perfect for that period look.....its the only wheel I will run other than the whiteys and hub caps! Great looking truck!

Re: New (old) Wheels

zeus, I will be running this truck and/or my big block Longhorn to the North Pack River this summer. I stop at the Laughing Dog brewery and that barbeque place near there whenever I am in town.

Re: New (old) Wheels

Thanks for the compliments. The nice thing is they are relatively inexpensive and easy to restore. I saw another set today for only $300 with 50% tread!

Andy...the canopy/topper/cap is to keep the original gold paint on the wood bed in top shape until the resto. It rains alot here...LOL!

What rim size are those? They sure look beefy. Very cool.

Re: New (old) Wheels

the thing I hate about them, they are always 16.5's. I'd get a set if I could find some old ones (read, cheap) that were 16's, but only the new ones are 16 inch.
Mike... that looks awesome. Is that the one you'll be cruising to Tn for the board meet? (you KNOW you wanna)

Re: New (old) Wheels

hotrod...looking good. I've got a set on my '67 short step rat.

CG...9.75 x 16.5 with 33x12.5x16.5's.

Andy...I am sure there is enough meat there to turn them down to 16's...I have been looking at old engine lathes with 17-18" swing for wheel work.

69...about 20 minutes with Mother's and a soft rag!

tcb-1, Thanks for the compliments and I have no idea but will look at the back of them for a name.

Everyone else...thanks! I knew the retro guys would like these...I know I do.

Where? Are they 8 lugs for a 3/4 ton? I may be interested. I love the slots.
