Ive used herculiner and some raptor brand stuff to do the tubs of jeeps and my blazer and they held up fine but I've never used a do it yourself bedliner in a truck that was actually used for work. Anybody have any good experience with the store bought stuff? The older I get the more I believe in the "you get what you pay for" mentallity but I thought I'd ask around before I spent $400 on a professional spray liner.

They will not stand up to the abuse. It really wears out on the corners. I even did 4 coats. The good thing about it is you can touch it up at any time, but who wants to do that every load.

I will definatly be using a professional spray-on liner next time.

Well i bought a gallon of the duplicolor and plan to put it on this spring and we use the truck alot, so I'll have to let you guys know.

I did mine with bed liner spray but my intent was to use it more as chip protection. The whole bottom of the truck is bed liner. I'll be putting a regular drop in liner in on top of the spray in stuff just to be on the safe side.

iv sprayed the dupli-color in the back of my 83, i wont be doing that again. and my brother used the same liner i did but, he rolled his on, it is also peeling and chipping off.

I had my liner professionally sprayed by LineX, for a little over $400. I can tell you that even this liner will not hold up under work conditions. I have hauled a couple rear ends and a few engine blocks amoung other things. I have cuts and scraps all over the liner. I do plan to touch it up with the roll on type liner
when it warms up some and I get 5 minutes to tackle it.

Dad and I both have "Ultra Linings" in our beds and they've taken quite a bit of abuse. Dads was done a few years ago when he bought the truck new and it has faded a little and has been kinda difficult to clean even with our pressure washer.

I hate the "do it yourself" herculiner in my truck -- it will probably cost a fortune to sandblast the mess out (the parts that havent flaked off, because i did it in several coats) -- never ever ever again.

$400 is money well spent if you use the truck.

I want to re-finish mine with a fresh painted look just like the general put in it in 1975, but i will use a bed rug or something similar if i haul anything

Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.
