I think 351 was the common displacement (not to be confused with the Furd 351)

Re: 68 gmc v6 (curious)
Not really rare. It was used by GMC from 1960 to 1974 in Light and Medium trucks in varying displacements. The 351E is most likely what is in it and is a 'magnum' head, with larger ports, and manifolds than the normal v-6s offered earlier. Theres a website dedicated to the v-6 @ http://www.6066gmcguy.org with a lot more info.
Edit: On a historical note, the gmc v-6 was the first domestically produced v-6 for the us, internationally beat out only by lancia. Last edited by subalternnavert; 03-12-2008 at 01:03 AM. Reason: further info |

Re: 68 gmc v6 (curious)
The A/C and power steering are very uncommon (rare maybe?) on a 68, and even more so on a V-6. The buddy buckets are semi rare. The V-6, while most were 305's, it's still one that 75% of people... if not more, would shun.
It's a very interesting truck any way you look at it. |
