T-5 vs Muncie 4 speed.
Hello all,
Does anyone know what the length of a T-5 is compared to a muncie M-XX? I have a six cylinder and a 3 speed in my 68 shortbed now and think the T-5 would work out nice if the length is close to the same. Has anyone done this swap? The T-5 should bolt right up to the stock bellhousing, just switch out to a fine spline clutch disk. I am concearned about where the shifter will come through the floor. Any help on this would be great. Thanks,

Here is a link with measurements. Also check out that tremec 3550 or TKO. The ultimate 5 speed. There is also a T-5 at the bottom with measurements. Cya.....Lumpy

The T5 is significantly longer than the Muncie. It is very close to a TH700R4. I would look at getting a 5 speed trans from a late model truck rather than a car since the shifter location is much better for a truck.
