spindle swap & axles

in the middle of a 67 swb small window build.have disc spindles for 71-72
i want to swap.wondering about the ball joints,do i have to change the upper
or lower,or both?also want to swap to 5 lug axles,have 71-72 rearend but its to wide.anybody know of a direct swap 5 lug into the narrower 67 rear?

You will need to replace both ball joints to 71-72 units. They will fit in the earlier control arms. The rear axle sould work aslo. They are wider, but I have read here that they will work. That is the plan for my truck too.

I got a ball joint kit from LMC to do my conversion. They sell 4 ball joints, 2 outer tie rod ends, and sway bar bushings for one low price. The later tie rods are larger in diameter, so you will have to either use the 71-72 tie rod with the new end OR keep what you have.

the 71-72 rear axle will work. Yes it is wider, but should work fine. I have a 69 6 lug in the rear of my 71 and the 71 is sitting under my 69. They work fine. the 71 went bad so i found a doner truck.
