I just got my Sanderson 3/4 length headers from ECE.( pics coming soon) I'm going to run the pipes through the rear cross member. what is the best way to cut the holes in the cross member at home without a torch or plasma cutter. I like doing as much work as i can on my truck. If it can't be done I'll see if the muffler shop will do it..

I think anything you could use at home that WASN'T a torch or plasma cutter would take forever and not be worth the trouble. I'd climb under there, measure out and draw with chalk where you want the holes, go down to a muffler shop and have them fire up the oxyacetylene torch and go to town. Shouldn't cost you more than $20 and you'll be done in 15 minutes. 5 to put it on the lift, 5 to do the cuts, 5 to take it off the lift and pay them.

Plasma cutter will leave a cleaner cut which makes for less grinding.

Thank guys, pretty much what I was thinking. I'm waiting on some snow to melt then headed to the muffler shop. I'm have new pipe run from the headers back with a crossover pipe with 50 series Flowmasters, turn downs right before the rear. Pretty much what I have now just wanting to go through the cross member to tuck it up close to the frame. Thanks for the replies...

I used a hole saw and almost broke my wrist about 5 times in the hour it took to do it. Id use a plasma if I had one.

i was gonna say a hole saww u and the month that it took i would have used a razor blade instead of a hole saw. u need fire to cut that plasma or tourch

i have the same headers cut mine with a hole saw didnt take that long but i have a lift
