Kansas CIty area parts???

Well I am looking for some people in KC area that have parts.. I am buying a 68 chevy tonight and I am going to be looking for alot of new sheetmetal including a cab. I also would be looking for someone that might want to trade a swb fleetside bed for my short step bed.

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

Thanks.. I actually found out LMCtrucks.com is in lenexa and classicparts.com is here as well. I am looking for some used parts that I can get that are original though so if you know of good junk yards or people that have alot of 67-72 parts that would be great.. I will defenitly check out the odessa shop.

He moved out there probably about two years ago. He has a huge shop out there by his house.

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

I'd go to Chevy Duty (Classic Parts) of Riverside. They are now a corporate sponser of the board.

I'm not a real big fan of LMC. They are totally renovating the showroom right now. That might mean that they are trying to turn things around???

Anyway, try Chevy Duty.

Don't forget, we have several local guys who sell good used parts here on the board.... teeitup, joesjunk, blazerman, 72ironmike to name a few. these are all quality, standup guys

and by the way, Welcome Aboard from Shawnee!

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

Forgot this...

ChevyDuty, Manes, and LMC are all vendors in the KC area as mentioned above, and have been pretty good to deal with. I'd recommend trying to find original metal as much as possible. Good luck with the build...

Start smoking those big ol' cigars. She won't even notice the truck smell then... Seriously though, get a bottle of that Febreeze spray and soak it and the garage down. That should help.

I had the same problem when I first brought my truck home. Soak the engine in degreaser and then take it to the car wash. Mine stoppped smelling as soon as I power washed the engine. If your exhaust is missing like mine was that doesn't help either. Good luck with the wife, she's probably just jealous!

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

LMC is high priced IMO. On new parts if your wanting to stay close to home deal with Ron at Manes, or at Chevy Duty. I also have ALOT of used parts around here, I'm a little less than a hour from west KC. Thanks Randy

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

I'd suggest a trip to Classic Parts (Chevy Duty) as well. If for nothing else, just to drool over the owners trucks in the showroom. There's a '85 Chevy 4x4 in there with like 89 miles on it along with a few other awesome trucks.

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

I can recomend Classic parts everytime they have been my parts supplier and I live in the U.K so having them on your doorstep as you do (it's a no brainer) And as teeitup says LMC are way way over priced, also remember that you have all the vendors here on the board...you won't get stuck.

eightbanger,
I feel sorry for you, mate! I thought it was hard getting parts for a 68 MG MGB and a few Triumph motorcycles I've restored. But getting classic Chevrolet truck parts over there has got to be close to impossible. I have MAJOR respect for you!!!!

shame on you for getting rid of you step for a fleet....... but I am a bit biased!!!

sooooo, if your selling the bed, pm me or email me direct. since your not a site supporter and we don't want to have this thread locked, your not supposed to solicit parts for sale.

Nice truck though! Good start!

I second that, Ron and Candy are good people and they used to have a good selection of used parts too. Spent some good money over there through the years. Some people like LMC, but I would definitely visit Chevy Duty (classicparts) first.

Try Cragslist too, I've been having very good luck posting want to buy ads in the KC area. Found some rare stuff for my Dad's '62 Nova in one week.

Re: Kansas CIty area parts???

Welcome From Topeka Kansas, take it from me TeeItup *Randy* is a Heck of a stand up guy and has peronsally obtained probably well over 500 dollars of my money in just a few months for parts for these trucks, he has a huge stock pile and is unbelievably fair on his prices. would be well worth the drive from KC. I think the Stepsides are a better look than the straight sides as well but its your hot rod build it to your taste! again welcome!
