Heater Hoses

Ok guys dumb ? here. Does it matter where the heater hoses are attached? What I mean here is. The hose that connects to the intake fitting (return I am assuming) does it attach to the upper heater core inlet or lower and visa versa for the other.

Last but not least... if one was going to remove or bypass the heater core for some reason is it necessary to install a bypass hose between the intake and the pump? This is for a small block...

Thanks in advance & God Bless, Terry

Re: Heater Hoses

Well not sure on what goes where but you can just put plugs in the water pump and intake because that's what I done on my monte carlo.

Re: Heater Hoses

1.) no, it does not matter where they attach. regardless of how they are attatched, fluid will flow through the heater core and exit like normal, it has no check valves built into it

2.) instead of installing a bypass hose, I would personally suggest installing short 5/8 bolts to make a cleaner look (stanless steel, one for the intake, one for the water pump).

Re: Heater Hoses

Well the plugs I used were chrome and had a recessed allen head to it made by spectre, so they looked really good.
