th350 tranny cross member direction

So I'm putting my th350 cross member back in and I notice there is a slope to it. I didn't take any pics before I pulled it and it was so long ago I don't remember which direction the slope goes - forward or back. You can kinda make out what I'm talking about in this pic. If any one knows which way it goes I'd sure appreciate it. I can come up with logic for both directions. I also have a shim, but it looks home made. Any help on orientation and shims is appreciated. I stole the pic from another member (thanks) but mine looks exactly the same.
