Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
Well, I've kinda halfway been looking for a project and some of my buds have been helping me on the hunt. Matt spotted this one hiding behind a transmission shop.
He's got pretty good eyes to be spotting them 50yds off the road with a for sale sign in the back window! It was a one owner swb fleetside with a fresh crate 350 and a new clutch. Gotta love that butterfly plate doncha! Unfortunately it had holes rusted in the bed floor big enough to push your thumbs through. The cab floor supports were also in need of repair. Cool back bumper huh? They had this cool ol Gremlin on the lot as well. Just makes you want one doesn't it! A lil T-bird was peeking at us. I put that 70s tint on this pic. No idea what this was. Pulled some pretty good MPG on the way back. Oh! My neighbor's son pulled up in this K5 this afternoon. I kinda liked the color on it. Spring is on the way, so hopefully I can get out some more and get some better pics for you guys. |

that picture of the thing you have no idea what it is, is a foot powered sewing machine with a broken chair sitting on top. The chair was probably for the person to use the sewing machine.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
Well, I thought about it being a trundle sewing machine but I hadn't seen one with what looked like two pedals before. Of course looking at it now I see that it's just one pedal.
They were asking $7500 for the pickup. Which would have been a bargain if the bed floor was good, as well as the cab floor supports. It had also had a body mount shimmed with a piece of plywood that had pretty much rotted. The wheel tubs in the bed were also junk. For that kind of money it would of had to of been an automatic with power brakes (and a bit less rust). I told em that I would go 4K on it, but they aparently aren't very motivated. The truck is located in Sevierville. I would think if they ditched the camper shell, torched the springs, and threw on some big fake torque thrust, someone would pay em for it during the rod run...............But it wouldn't be me! |

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
to be honest for the truck in the first pic the price would be considered cheap around here in vermont if that was all the rust on her the rest looked pretty dang clean to me and a new crate motor to boot

Five bills max in rust country.Maybe someone would actually pay $7,500.But,it wouldn`t be cheap.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
The Ochre truck has a lot of potential.....just not as much as they think it does. I forgot to mention that both doors were also going to need patched on it as well. I just couldn't see any more than 4k for a truck that needed that much rust repair. I guess part of it is the fact that I don't really need another truck......I just want one. So, like all of us, I don't want to buy one that's worth what I'm paying. I want a bargain. That truck is no bargain. I also noticed that the front clip is a different color than the rest of the truck which made me feel like there could be some damage in it's past. I guess that could explain why they had plywood between one of the body mounts and the cab. Things might be a bit tweaked somewhere. My wife keeps telling me when the right truck comes along, I'll know it.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
see ten thanks for the pics, how has everything been going. We really need to coordinate a good cruise for pics. Let me know, I am sure fatboys 69 (dewayne) and maybe a few guys from work will bring out their cars, heck, maybe I can get the 68 running in time.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
I thought you sold the 68? But yeah, cruise in season is fixing to hit (or at least the nicer weather is). We can either hit a cruise or just ride around and hit some good locations for some pics. I can always throw my 6' stepladder in the back of the C10 so we can get some higher perspective shots. Just give us a shout we you get some free time. I know you stay pretty covered up with the magazine and your own projects as well.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
They could be had with 304's, but the 360's and 401's were reserved for the AMX and Javelin. Oh yea, they werent "big blocks" either. The 304, 360 and 401 use the same block.

Re: Sat pics (3-15) truck shopping and random pics
I've noticed this truck in my town has been for sale for awhile now and the dude wants $7,500 for it too. I personally think it's too much. For sale sign on it said it had a rebuilt motor with 900 miles on it, rebuilt trans, drive shaft, and rear end. It also had new seat upholestry but I still don't think it's worth $7,500 cause it still needed work done to it. I'm talking about the '54 by the way. The '63 is mine. Great pics again see ten.
