My first custom chevy

It was a 77 SWB, with 89-91 GMC Suburban front, newer model front bumper(not sure on the year) roll pan, awesome paint job and and a nasty little 355 under the hood. Interior had the bucket seat and console from a suburban. I Bought the truck with the paint and a mild 350. I replaced the wiring harnes and I was replacing the cam when one of the lifters broke trying to get it out so it snowballed into a complete rebuild of the Motor and tranny. The heads were completely gone through and had some port matching and some massaging done to them and everything else was put together by the machine shop. All msd igntion and a 750 holley on top of a edelbrock rpm intake. Don't remember the cam size but it was big enough that it needed a vacuum canister and a 2400 stall speed converter. It was loads of fun and I used to love driving around with my buddies(I was 18 or 19 at the time) Our favorite time was going to the local theater and driving all the way to the top of the parking garage and seeing how many alarms we could set off. Man, I miss those days!!

Anyway here are only pics I have left:

That is sweet. Definitely the 90's show look and it pulls off perfectly. I'm guessing you sold it ? I'd be missing it too.

Re: My first custom chevy

Rear tires are 275-60-15, no tubs or anything like that.

Yes I sold it to buy a Jeep and now I wish I could get it back.

Re: My first custom chevy

It was far from perfect when I sold it. Someone had stolen the hood, carb, and a couple of other under the hood items. I had to replace those. It had a regular hood on it(that did not match) and the column was messed up and some one else relieved me of my fuel cell and electric fuel pump. I got enough to buy my Jeep and then some but if I had it to do all over agin I would have kept that truck.
