Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

Hmm, thought it was suppose to be 36 in length.. here is a link... http://www.classicperform.com/Store/.../6572CDTBK.htm I think i recall when lowering 5 or more the mounting location of the track bar is changed as well, to compensate for the geometry change. but i cannot recall where i read this. There are plenty of members that have been down this road, so hopefully they will chime in soon.

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

THis might be a dumb question, but is the rear centered in that photo? I know the rear can move a lot from side to side which might be the problem and you just need to scoot it over a little.

here is a pic of the other side. don't mind the shock mounts - i have now put them on the right way.

these bars use the factory upper mount on the driver side frame???

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

whatnow123, brought up a good point...........do a quick measurement from the bulge of the right tire to the frame rail and the left tire to the frame rail to see if the frame is over to the right more than the left.

I wanted to see the right side mount to make sure it was mounted correctly.

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

go check and make sure the rear is centered. The track bar uses the factory mount on the frame and attaches to the other trailing arm.

That's what I used. I bought a heavy duty one and it worked great. I'm not sure of another way to do it if you're by yourself.

I've never owned on of these, so I dont know how you are supposed to install them, but it looks to me like the bracket on the track bar / trailing arm is up side down ???

Looks like you pan hard bar would hit the frame when the axle is all the way up in your notch

But I dont know, just making an observation

It's installed correctly from what I can see in the pic.

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

I installed mine over the holiday's and had to pull the body over with a strap. It looks as though the frame and trailing arms are way off. The u-bolts on the rear end should come right under the frame when they are compressed.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

don't understand - there are no shocks on it right now so the springs are supporting the weight with no bed.

if i pull the frame to install the bar, i would then use the adjusting rod to center the rearend?

any pics of one of these installed.. i searched over the weekend but only found the adjustable factory replacement and the ECC brand thet i think is different

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

In my earier post I said I pulled the body over I meant the frame. I attached a strap to the trailing arm and then to the oppiste side of the frame and centered it up. The frame mount for the arm to the trailing arm mount and pulled it until it lined up.

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

Dude, you have a stock rear end right? At least I saw the stud mounted on the rear end. The 39 inch track bar is about 15 inches too long and does not need to be mounted to the trailing arm unless you want it there. My truck is lowered four inches using lowering blocks and drop springs and I have no clearance issues. I just measured my track bar and it is 24 inches from center of the mounting stud to center of bolt on the mounting point on the frame. Also when you center the rear end use a ratcheting strap as the other guys suggested and measure from which ever point are fixed, eg outside edge of frame to inside edge of rear discs.

Re: ccp rear adj track arm - what is wrong

SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE
people are trying to help but your not giving back here like helping with your measurements.

With NO shocks you could stand near the right rear of your frame and by pressing your leg against the frame rail pushing left you can make the frame move over 3-4 inches I bet.......its that easy.
I just measured mine outside in the rain, took 5 minutes tops.
the bar,35" center to center
from sidewall of bulge of tire to frame 7 1/2 EACH SIDE (ROUGHLY)
directly above the center above the trailing arm (dividing line in each one) to side of frame 4 -4.5 each side.

here you go
NOTE this is generally speaking........the buldge of the tire ON TOP to the frame, and then directly above parting line of control arm to side of frame.
