To be Clear, or to be Amber, that is the question.

Awhile back, when my aunt ordered front marker lights for my b-day, they cam in mixed accidently. And, due to the collective procastination of my dad and I, their still here.

Curious to what ya'll thing about the amber vs. clear (stock) on the left side:

ClearAmber

ClearAmber

ClearAmber

Clear (more yellow at night)
Amber (more orange at night)

I think the amber looks better and will hide fogging of the lenses better

Re: To be Clear, or to be Amber, that is the question.

I am going clear on the lights on my 70 (72 bumper with the lights in it), but i really like the orange lenses on your truck. Looks clean with the truck color. Plus, as mentioned the clear fog easily. One way the clear looks better is to buy the silver bulbs that blink amber, then you don't see the yellow bulb through the lense which makes it look like the lense yellowed

OH, fogging like this?

The original lense...

Thanks guys. Sorta leaning towards amber. Just to be different, and looks good with the truck... and gives a good excuse to get new side markers.

Keep 'em coming

I think the clear ones flow with the bar in the grill better, the orange ones just look like big squares sticking out at ya

I may swing with the amber, and see how I like it.

Re: To be Clear, or to be Amber, that is the question.

Changing the subject slightly, the state you live in decides which color is legal. I'm not sure what Texas thinks, but you might want to check...

Since they came with amber lenses and possibly orange bulbs, that's pretty much ok anywhere, but don't give the boys an excuse to pull you over.

Re: To be Clear, or to be Amber, that is the question.

Amber is legal. Amber (to my knowledge) is legal in all US states in the front.... Kinda better be, all new cars use amber front signals For TX, only amber and white can face forwards. Amber on the sides. And amber and red on the back. Clearence lights must be amber, with the exception of the rear-ward facing dualie clearance lamps which can be red.
