HI guys i did some measuring and just want to know if anyone can verify what i found..

looks like the stuff from a mid 80's 1ton trunk front end will bolt strait onto my 66c30, the a arm attach looked to be the same as did the spring purches and everything i could find. this is 2wd stuff... i dont know the exact year of the doner truck(80) it came out from under the big square chevys) anyway im going to try this swap next week but if somone had already tryed it and failed it would be knice to know... anyway i hope to be disking next week

Re: NEW disk brake swap questions

63-87 1/2 ton and up to 91 for 3/4 ton will bolt right up. If you wish to use the power steering box you will need to mount it. All in all a very easy swap and well worth it.

Re: NEW disk brake swap questions

The suspension crossmember and the basic a-arms are the same between the C20's and the C30's and of course everything from the spindles out is different. I just don't remember if the C30 ball joints will fit the C20 a-arms. I have the parts to do the swap on my C30 but just haven't had time to complete it. If you could get the whole suspension assembly, that would be the way to go. If you keep your original crossmember and just swap the a-arms and such, I would recommend switching to the 9/16" lower a-arm shaft u-bolts from the later model setup.
