Finaly got it home

'76 C20 Camper Special. 350/4bbl Turbo 350 Trany, 4.10 rear end. It has 129K on it. Was it worth $1,500? Hardly any rust. I hope to have digital pics of it next week end. Remains to be seen though. It says on a sticker in the glove box basic camper package yet it still has power steering and brakes. I must be misinformed about soemthing. It has the etched glass and wood grain paneling on the doors. Runs good for 32 years old. It burns oil for about the first 60 seconds after you start it up (blue smoke) I did notice it makes dark smoke when to put it to the floor.

Re: Finaly got it home

Hardly any rust. Sand paper and some color matching paint would have it gone in a few hours. Not including the time spent watching it dry.

the black smoke is probably just a sign that the carb is running rich and is in need of adjustment. Sounds like you got a decent deal, congrats.

Re: Finaly got it home

the umbrella seals might be bad if it burns oil the first few seconds, does it do it every time? Or just when it sits for a day or two? yeah, the black smoke sounds like a carb issue...get it dialed in and you should be good to go (it might just have carbon build up too that a little carb clean could take care of.)
