brake/turnsignal switch baffle????

I was checking my brake light switch as i was buttoning up some final wiring on the truck. I checked continuity across the switch and noticed that the switch was in a closed state no matter which position/ ??? I thought that I had a bad switch so i pulled it out. It checks out okay. No continuity across the terminals when button is in and continuity when buttonis out as it is supposed to be.. Now here is where the whole thing gets baffling................

I checked at the plug that plugs into the switch and found i had continuity across the 2 wires??? ( this isn't right or the brake kights would be on. I checked the turn signal switch it was in neutral..............okay here is what i found if the turn signal switch is in neutral or left position there is continuity across the 2 wires at the brake light switch.. If I engage right turn on the t signal the continuity is gone.
What the heck is going on?
All of this stuff worked when the truck was parked before i started working on it
Anyone?

Re: brake/turnsignal switch baffle????

Did you try adjusting the switch so it didn't have continuity when the brake pedal shouldn't activate the plunger?

Re: brake/turnsignal switch baffle????

I hooked up a battery and all works as it should. I am writing this off to not understanding what the heck goes on in brake/turn signal switch circuits.
