Question for you leaf spring guy's

I am going to put a flip kit on my truck and I can get one locally for a '73 and up pickup. My question is, will it work on my '70 with rear leafs? I can't seem to find any reason why it won't. Thanks in advance.

Re: Question for you leaf spring guy's

There were a few widths of leaf springs... I would compair yours to a 73 - 87, and also look at the spring hangars... I assume the flip kit would have a hanger mod to keep from needing a notch.

You`re talking about an axle-flip (mounting axle over leafs),right?IDo you have a Dana60?I`m sure a`73-up kit would work on a pre-73 1/2t since they are all 12-bolts.Are there kits for 3/4t?If not,I`m sure you could grind out the radius bigger on the flip bracket to 3.125".

Re: Question for you leaf spring guy's

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the width of the springs. Pre-'73 are 2-1/4" wide, 1973 and up are 2-1/2". Most if the newer stuff will work because, overall, there is only 1/8" difference on each side of the spring. You may have have to "shave" a little off each side of the flip bracket to get things to fit but it shouldn't be a problem.
