I'm looking at ways to cut down road and engine noise in the cab. What is used inside the doors that will not retain moisture and rust? Maybe something behind the seat and around the tank? I've got lots of choices for the floor, but new seals on the doors and windows don't really help too much with the noise.

theres this stuff called dynamat - stereo shops use it in there installs. put that under ur carpet up your firewall, inside the doors, behind the fuel tank etc etc. good stuff, only thing is is quite expensive and weighs a bit when u use alot of it...

As an alternative you may elect to use an aerosol spray in sound deadener like rubber undercoating available from a number of companies. Most all parts stores carry it. Spray in might be easier to use in the doors and tight corners. Putting something in the doors takes some of the tinny sound out when you close it. You could also use one of the roll on bed liner brands instead.

Does Dynamat hold moisture? Even though I now keep it inside, I'de like it to last anothe 40 years without totally rusting away.

ive never heard of it holding moisture, its like a tar mat with alloy foil on one side an sticky on the other. just as long as where your putting it is dry and clean when you put it down it should be fine. i guess you could spray around the edges of it with cavity wax to stop moisture going under it.

By the way, I lived in Perth for about 6 months with a girlfriend in Swan Valley. I only saw one 70? c-10 the entire time I was there. Wouldn't imagine there are too many Chevys over there, I only saw one other chevy in Fremantle the whole time I was there.

you serious? haha ive met a few others here that have spent time in perth. nice place aye... nope there sure aint alot of chevys here, see the occasional 90`s an up trucks, and very few early ones, mines the only 86 i know of. and a mate of mine has a 58, and another friend has a 62.
