what master cylinder? help needed

hey guys, its coming time to start the brakes, and i need some advice on a master cylinder and prop. valve. 68' cab with stock swing petals, 71' 1/2 ton 12 bolt posie rear with stock drum set up, late 70's camero disc front set up. total truck weight 2500 lbs. NON power brakes. i need a m/c & prop. valve that will work with this set-up. also the outside of the firewall is 1/4-3/8 inch thicker, so i will need to some how accomodate the rod being a little short. can anyone help or direct me on this? thanks, pkj

71-72 master cylinder and a stock 71-72 prop valve or a CPP PV-1 prop valve. you'll have to do a bit of brake line bending to get the tubes in line with the orifices (sp) but that's the only hassle.

I'm running a NON power booster setup on mine as well. works like a charm.

here's my setup:

With the smaller front brakes, I would go with a 71/72 master, the stock 67 - 70 distribution valve (instead of the stock proportioning valve) and get an adjustable proportioning valve and fine tune it that way.
For the added thickness of the firewall, you may be able to adjust that out with the stock pushrod.
If you already have the lines run for your brakes, I would stick with what ever model your truck ir (20 verses 10 series) The lines are hooked up backwards on the master on a 3/4 ton verses a 1/2 ton.
