Winter Blues

This is the third Friday in a row we got a foot of snow. After plowing the drive again I thought that I would start my Jimmy up and take it out side and take some pictures. Here they are.

Re: Winter Blues

Cool pics. I wish we either got some of your snow or that my Blazer looked as good as that. I'll take either.

Re: Winter Blues

No doubt, we still have three feet on the ground here.
Nice to see them starting to come out though, yours is looking good.

BUT having a pending project with a due date tied to it, this late snow cover is killing me.

I had to play some a couple weeks ago myself.

Re: Winter Blues

Here's some blues!

This was last weekend. There's four more inches on top of that now. Around 15 feet total snowfall this year with almost no rain to melt any of it yet.
I guess I won't be cutting the lawn anytime soon

BTW, that's my Moby Dick weather vane on top of the shed...He hasn't been too active this year

Sorry to high jack you thread Gary. Your Jimmy looks great on that snow bank!

Pete

Re: Winter Blues

Agree on nice looking Jimmy - and being tired of the snow/cold here in Ohio.

Every weekend - it has either been very cold or snowed for as long as I can remember....

My favorite was the first day of spring this year (few days ago) - I walked outside to go to work and there was frost on the truck -

Now we have inches of snow to wait to melt - they salt the roads here - so you have to wait another 2 weeks for the salt to be off the wet roads before you can drive your 'keeper' car on them.

PITA!

Re: Winter Blues

cure for the winter blues.... go steelhead fishing upstate NY! Temp. 17 degrees, wind gusting to 50 MPH, 4 ft. snow on the ground and snowing, this year was a lite snowfall usually 10-12 ft. 8-10 hrs standing in the water, 3 days...4 steelies, catch and release

Found some cool old stuff in peoples backyards(67-72) Nice Jimmy! Drive it deeper into the snow bank, I'd like to see more pics. of it when you get a chance pls.

WOW didn't realize it was snowing that much up there! Here in Mississippi it was 78 Friday, & we got sunburned when went riding quads & dirt bikes all day! I've even been thinking about taking the top back off. But probably gonna have a little more cold weather...like today it's a brisk 57!

Actually, the other guy is me! My son is a south paw,and we can fish side by side with out getting in each others way.Differant drifts thru the same bed.differant strokes for differant folks

Got a flyrod downstairs, but couldn't hit the moniter if I was standing at the keyboard Last year I kept one to be mounted, after 15-20yrs of catch and release, 17lb, 36in. hook jaw male. Fell to a copper back stonefly...10 1/2' noodle rod works for me, someday when I get old I'll throw a flyrod Here's a better pic of what I was trying to fish, and even my son couldn't fish it

Gary, that was a cool article about your truck in that magazine. Still haven't got around to subscribing

Usually I'm in about 2 feet deeper, I can wade all the way in to my armpits, then it gets a little hairy. That's my guide, I use his drift boat to go down stream. Looks like he's goofing off, but I can't say what he's really doing

There is about 5 layers of different types of matrls. All breathable, lets the sweat out so your not damp on the inside. Don't ask how it works, cause I don't know

Gary, thanks for putting up with my Hijack. I'm Sorry...J.

Re: Winter Blues

Your Jimmy is a beauty, Gary! I used to have a dislike for snow but with the lack of moisture up here I would sure take some.
A B-1 bomber had to make an emergency landing at our AFB last week due to an engine failure and just the small hot parts falling out of it started several grass fires, that thankfully were controlled quickly. Our men in the plane were all OK and they are trying to determine what failed. Kinda scary that fire danger season is still supposed to be 5 months away.

Is that an unpainted 71-72 grille? If it is you have made me feel better. It looks great! I ended up buying one for my 70 against my better judgement, but all the shopping I did, a rechromed 71-72 was a sh!tload cheaper than a 70.

Later---DAC

Did that for years with the 4 boys, we finally got tired of shoulder to shoulder and people wading in the only good hole

Now I wait to go up NY 3 times a year and I have the river to myself. 27-35 lb salmon, 15-20 lb steelhead, brown trout...If you want to go sometime give me a shout

You can fish up there from Sept. to May
