tranny slipping

since I put the supercharger on the 350 it has been slipping right before it shifts. It's like it's trying to do a stock smooth shift. Is a shift kit going to get rid of this or is it not supposed to do this at all, it leaves the line hard just slips when it shifts. The fluid smells good and not burnt so I dont think it's going out just think it needs adjusted or a shift kit

a shift kit would help, if the fluid smells good and is still red than i would guess that its a difference in power

Real hot rods have a clutch to go with that blower! Ok , done bein smart azz, Ill try to help......I dont have any experience with blown motors, but have seen a " modulink" offered by B&M. basically, its a mechanical modulator for the trans. the blower probably "confuses" the vacumn that the eng pulls, as its putting pressure into it. If the trans worked good before, my guess is its a vacumn issue(or basically ,lack of). hope that helps, crazyL

thanks crazy, you got me started in the hunt and i found what i was looking for they dont make the modulink thing anymore but the simple easy way is to put a check valve inline with your moudulator with a hole on the modulator side to make a leak under boost kinda a neat idea and cheap so I will give it a go

I think I'm going to go with the transgo shift kit just for firmer shifts to scare my passangers even more than the whine, people seem to think somthing has gone teribly wrong when you get on it and they hear the blower and ask whats that noise? did you just break it?

LOL! gotta love that sound My trans screams like hell in 3rd & 4th gear......a blower on top would really put the freakin icing on that! i love freakin passengers out too......there are a few guys that flat azz wont ride with this crazy old fart no more

I think it is probably the vac problem as blowers have no vac they create boost. a mechanical shift should do it

it makes vacum under normal driving and works fine under normal driving but when you tap the fun pedal hard you get 6psi of fun and it shifts funny.

I am doing the same build on a 4wd 427 Big block ,TH 350 with a small blower.
Where is your vacum source coming from for your vacum modulator.
Is the line coming form under carb or plummed into intake.
What is your minimum vacum under wot.

Well I forgot to consider the fact that I have the vacum sourced to the base of the carb and it's not getting any boost it's only getting vacum. But it never goes below 5psi of vacum? I dont know what it should read without a blower so Im stumped is it supposed to drop off to zero or is it normal for there to be vacum under wot? I'm still getting the shift kit and will probly have that in before the end of the week but I dont know if thats going to fix or change anything

Got my **** kit in last night and I was greeted this morning with a down pour so I didnt get to try it out and it looks like it will rain all weekend. THIS SUCKS
