ball with vacuum line
what does the ball with vacuum line on top go to? It sits on the driverside engine bay fire wall. Do i need it or chuck it.

That ball is the vacuum reservoir for your vacuum operated items inside the cab. Example: vacuum operated heater controls and doors. This ball makes up the difference when you change engine RPMs and the vacuum drops on the intake manifold. It becomes a small source and can be a good thng to have. It can be mounted almost anywhere, you want it to be.
