Door hinge rebuild issue
Ok, I was trying to remove the hinge pin from my door hinge and didn't really have the tools for it (i.e. a press).Because of the gaps between the two pieces, i decided to cut the pin to split the pieces apart, and would simply knock out the pieces of pin after. Pin is now split, but the pieces frozen inside the pin slot. Anyone have any ideas?

I actually had the same problem on one today also, after I cut and split them I heated them up and then had to use a hammer and punch to drive them out. It took some decent blows with the hammer to get them moving too.

I've got 2 of 4 hinges apart using an oxygen/acetylene torch for heat and a big vise. Its not easy...

OK, well, my torch is empty, need to get a new propane tank. However, the pin kit came with two bushings for each hinge. Am I missing bushings? And where in the hinge do they sit?

I think 2 are regular size, and 2 are oversize in case the old bushings wore too much.

Just to confirm, I will need to unbolt the hinge from the cab body to drive out or press out the hinge pins, right?

Answered my own question. Ended up removing both hinges from the cab and pressed the pins out/in using a 12T press, although I might have been able to do it with a big bench vise. Couldn't believe the old bushings were nylon.
The hardest part was getting the door back on the hinges My wife helped me take the door off, but I put it back on by myself using an ice chest and some 2x4s to support it. Sure is nice to not have to lift up the door anymore to close it!
