Vent window conversion

I just got a flyer in the mail from one of the big parts suppliers , they advertise a one piece window conversion for my 67 C-20, has anybody ever used one of these? If so, how did it fit?

Re: Vent window conversion

I am considering a one piece window conversion kit as well. There are several suppliers out there now that offer these kits. Most of them add a small triangular piece in the corner of the window, which I think dramatically simplifies the install. The one kit I've seen that is a true one piece full replacement has a very involved and complicated install. Keep that in mind when you are picking your kit.

Re: Vent window conversion

Bought mine at Brothers. My biggest gripe was how long it took to get the kit from them. I'm in the middle of the install now. So far the biggest problem has been the aluminum corner piece that replaces the vent window. The hole they drilled to mount does not match the location on my truck. Had to redrill the hole to new location. The instructions they supply don't quite match what I rec'd. I ordered the one piece power window kit. The instructions they sent is for the manual version they sell. Their tech dept. hasn't been much help either. They don't show where to drill holes for the power wires from the regulator through the door frame. There are more choices available out there to buy these types of conversion kits. Be sure you check them all out before ordering.

Re: Vent window conversion

I installed the Brother's kit and love it now that it is done. It wasn't my favorite thing while I was installing it though. Not a bad install, but it eats up a lot of time (2 hours per door). I did not have electric windows and maybe that helped. One piece of advise to all, don't use the window tape they provide to attach the glass to the "sash" it is too thick. Go to a local glass shop and get thinner tape, it will fit much better in the end. I read a write up on this after mine was installed, but have not got arround to changing mine to fix the loosed glass problem that I have.
