what should i do with these rims?

i think they are ruined, at least the chrome. so until i get some new ones i was thinking of powder coating them gloss black, we have a really good powdercoating place here for 15 bucks a rim, what do you guys think?

You'll need to sandblast them prior to powdercoating. Looks like you will have pits from the rust...which will show when powdercoated...especially in a gloss finish.

I like Cragar SS rims, but not sure how they would look painted or 'coated.

Re: what should i do with these rims?

By the time you pay some one to blast them and PC them, couldn't you buy some new ones? I havn't priced SS's in a LONG time, but they used to be reasonable.

Re: what should i do with these rims?

Go for it, your only out $60 --- i've spent more than that on beer in the last week.

I do think an aluminum or brushed color like that falcon up there -- would look better on an old SS though -- or a 2 tone

Thumbs up Re: what should i do with these rims?

Most PC outfit's have a "chrome" finish you could do them in that as well but i like that brushed satin finish too.

Even if you spent a 100 bux to do it you'd still be ahead plus you don't see many of the original Cragar s/s wheels around now day's.

What ever finish you choose we want to see some pic's of 'em when there done!
