ECE super track bar and finned aluminum diff covers.

Greetings folks,
Its been a few weeks since my last post, so i'm overdue. I'm ready to have the GM 12 bolt reassembled now, but I want to install one of those cool cast or aluminum covers. I heard you can't run those on our trucks because they hit the track bar. Since i'm going to run a ECE super track bar kit, will that allow me the space to run the finned diff cover? Show some pics if you got'em. I dare not ask for pics of "your rear ends" because the last time some of you guys traumatized me. Thanks for any help you can provide. Mr.E

I haven't found a cover other than the stock style that works with the ECE bar.

Re: ECE super track bar and finned aluminum diff covers.

I am going through exactly the same situation. Since I don't know exactly what cover you are using, you will have to determine if the track bar will not clear the cover. If it does not clear the cover, ECE has just come up with a new track bar that is bent in such a manner that it will clear a deeper cover. You can phone Stan at ECE to find out the specifics of the track bar. If you just want to order it, you can add the super track bar, albeit straight, to your cart. In the special instructions for the order, state that you want the BENT super track bar. Let us know how the bar fits!

The ECE Super Track Bar will sit in the exact same location as a stock track bar.

special-K, if this is a reply to my post, the track bar I was referring to is a NEW track bar that bends around a deeper cover. If it is not a reply to my post, ignore this post.

I bet it will be close, since it is close with the stock cover. Here are some pics of my 67 CrewCab.

Here is a picture of the interference I had. Granted, it is not a super track bar but you can see just how close things will be.

Re: ECE super track bar and finned aluminum diff covers.

CPP makes a bent one to clear "taller" rear covers. There was an artical about it in either Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Trucks a few months back. I ordered one because I have a Trick Flow cover with the bearing cap support studs and the CPP bar did not clear either... It was not bent in the right place so it was going to hit the right side of my cover....

Also I spoke with Stan at ECE a few days ago and he said that they do have one that is bent to clear the covers as well. I had to ask him about them though because they are not advertised.

Re: ECE super track bar and finned aluminum diff covers.

I have the ece track bar and it hit the T/A cover I bought. I had to go back to stock. I posted the same question a few months ago. They look alot nicer that stock.
