Tail light mods - break out the grinders!

I would like to to some modifications before te truck goes into the paint shop this spring. The openings around my tail lights is not perfect though I like the looks of the white/chear lenses I am using now. They look like someone had a really bad day with a screwdriver trying to get the lenses out.

I thought about cutting the bar between the stop and reverse lights for a one piece look with the OEM shape, its just that I have seen some of what kind of plasic material to find for lenses (I think I have seached every plastic mfr on the web) that will not end up looking like chincy frosted plastic from a florescent light cover.

Any suggestions? And sorry, no caddy lights, yuk
